Inner Insight Counselling

Reaching out for counselling can feel daunting. I can offer you a safe, empathic, and genuine space where we can work through any difficulties you're experiencing. We can take those steps together towards making positive changes in your life.

Meet your counsellor

My name is James. I am a registered member of the BACP and have over a decade of experience offering support to others. I am an integrative counsellor – each individual is unique, and I will blend a range of counselling approaches to best suit your needs.

I believe everyone has the ability to gain a deeper understanding of themselves, to grow, and to heal. We’ll work together to create a therapeutic relationship which leaves you feeling safe and empowered, helping you make sense of life and leave you feeling more able to make your own decisions. I believe in the power of an individual's inner strength - I will listen to you and give you space to find your inner strength. I will use my training and experience, but also my humanity and personality – I care about individuals, and want to provide an environment where people feel accepted and heard.

I am insured, DBS-checked, and ICO registered.

Although I am based in Gillingham in Medway, online counselling makes therapy accessible for people across Kent, and even the rest of the UK.

Welcome to Inner Insight Counselling

You might be reaching out for counselling because you're struggling with your mental health. Perhaps life is feeling overwhelming. Or you just need a safe space to get things off your chest. However complicated, difficult, or upsetting things might be, there's support available for you from Inner Insight Counselling.

We’ll embark on a journey together where I follow you along the pathway of your life. You’ll help me understand the pathway we’re walking down, what the surroundings look like, and what the journey feels like.

When we come to any crossroads, we’ll look at what lies ahead – we’ll work towards empowering you to make a decision about which route feels the most comfortable to follow. This might include focussing on how to reframe how you think about approaching the next path in front of you. There will be times when we look back along the path you’ve walked, helping us to make sense of all the twists and turns that has brought you to this point. At times the journey might not make sense, and you might even feel unsure about what choices you have made whilst on your journey.

Others might have accompanied you on the journey until now, with others joining you further along the path. Some of these relationships might help your journey, others might hinder your journey.

Regardless of how long we work together, I hope you’re able to take strength from the experience to help you as you progress along your own path.
