Trauma can occur when we experience a distressing event which overwhelms our ability to cope. It can be caused by a single incident, or repeated experiences. The effects can be felt immediately after an event, or many years later. Our ability to cope with situations varies from person to person and can lead to significant mental health issues.
Some individuals feel nervous going to therapy about their trauma due to fears of facing painful memories, reliving the experiences, or feeling out of control.
It is an effective technique for managing the impact of trauma, PTSD, flashbacks, and involuntary thoughts. It is an imagery-based technique used to help process and reduce the impact of traumatic memories. In a safe and controlled space, I will guide you through a visualisation exercise where you revisit the traumatic event. However, you'll experience it differently:
Involuntary recall of trauma can leave individuals feeling out of control. The thoughts, feelings, and sensations can leave someone feeling like they are continually reliving the traumatic events. Rewind Therapy aims to stop the involuntary recall – it helps to store the traumatic event and gives the individual control over if (or when) they want to access these memories again. It will then allow someone to live their life more freely without fear of these traumatic experiences repeatedly haunting them.
Rewind therapy can be a powerful tool for:
Because it focuses on imagery rather than reliving the event in detail, rewind therapy can be a gentler approach to trauma treatment, especially for those who find traditional therapy difficult.
Rewind Therapy is delivered normally over no more than two sessions to bring about closure for single traumas. These sessions are held two weeks apart.
This therapy has a success rate of over 85%, and results are long-lasting. During our initial session we'll discuss your individual needs and determine if rewind therapy is the right approach for you. If the approach is not suitable, we will explore what other options are available.

Please note, at the moment I only offer Rewind Therapy sessions online.
